Waxhaw Presbyterian church is located at 2814 Old Hickory Road, Lancaster, SC. It was founded by Scotch-Irish settlers and was the first church in the Upstate of South Carolina.
Samuel Dunlap was one of the founding elders of this church.

John Stephenson is also a Revolutionary patriot. Too old to serve,
he provided food & materials for Continental Army as well as feed for
their horses.
Waxhaw Church, ca. 1750
(This is the 3rd church on the site. The original was burned
by the British because of the support of Waxhaw Church members of Revolutionary
effort.). The cemetery is located to the left of the church building.
Memorial to Rebecca Jackson (mother of Andrew Jackson. She died
in Charleston Harbor nursing Revolutionary patriots from Waxhaw church
who were on a British prison ship.) & church members who were Revolutionary
